This 1971 Volvo P1800, is an exceptional example of classic automotive craftsmanship. It was one of only three vehicles used as display cars at the Ford corporate headquarters to celebrate the company’s acquisition of Volvo. With only 50,830 original miles, this well-preserved car underwent a high-quality restoration in 2000 and is presented in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.
Key Features:
- Year: 1971
- Model: Volvo P1800
- Mileage: 50,830 original miles
- Engine: Original Bosch fuel-injected B20E 4-cylinder engine, rated at 130 horsepower
- Transmission: Rebuilt automatic transmission (original replaced in 2006)
- Color: Resprayed in Volvo blue (formerly gold over black)
- Interior: Dove gray leather upholstery, OEM accurate stitching
- Factory Features: Air conditioning (blows cold), four-wheel disc brakes, black factory alloy wheels, original twin exhaust exits, and period-style tires
- Restoration: High-quality restoration completed in 2000
The car retains its original engine, which has been well-maintained and benefits from a recent fuel pump replacement. The factory-installed air conditioning blows cold, and all instruments and switchgear are in good working order. The exterior features its original black factory alloys, which beautifully complement the Volvo blue paintwork.
Inside, the interior has been carefully restored with dove gray leather, and the trunk has been equally well-appointed with a matching floor cover and factory-style spare tire cover. This car’s original factory ID tags remain in the engine bay and door jamb, confirming its authenticity.
Offered with minimal use since its time on display, this Volvo P1800 is a rare collector’s item that combines a rich history, classic style, and superb performance.
